A New York City visual artist, Melodie Provenzano conceived of "Connie Acher" in 1996, while obsessively creating outsider folk pop on her four track late at night. Propelled by the tribulations of love and being alive, "Acher" stands for "one who aches" and "Connie" represents the pseudonymous character of her musical voice.
